Family Violence Shelter

Our Family Violence Shelter is located in a confidential location on Kauaʻi and is open to all victims of violence and their children, regardless of race or ethnicity, gender identity or sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status.

Admitting the truth about your abusive relationship is an important first step in getting out and ending the cycle of violence. It’s not your fault, and you are not alone. People who understand the unique difficulties that victims of violence face are available to help you. We will help you make a safety plan and weigh your options for violence-free living.

Shelter Services

In addition to providing food, clothing, and security, our shelter services include:

  • Crisis counseling

  • Safety planning

  • Survivor advocacy

  • Temporary restraining order assistance

  • Case management and referrals

  • Individual therapy

  • Psycho-education support groups focused on the cycle of violence and its impact on children

  • Children’s services and a children’s support group
