No one deserves to be abused. Our Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services are dedicated to supporting survivors and preventing violence.
YWCA Kauaʻi provides services to people who are experiencing violence and their loved ones. Services are available to people of all ages, regardless of sex, gender, or sexual orientation.
YWCA Kauaʻi adheres to strict confidentiality standards to ensure the privacy of clients.
The Crisis Team at YWCA Kauaʻi serves as a first point of contact for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Our dedicated team is available 24/7 to provide free, confidential crisis counseling, emotional support, advocacy, resources, emergency assistance, and referrals. Crisis Services Coordination
Our Crisis Services Coordinators are available 24/7 to provide crisis counseling, conduct safety planning, and help survivors of Domestic Violence and/or Sexual Assault navigate the Justice System.
Our staff can accompany you:
to a court hearing at the Kauaʻi County Courthouse
to a forensic interview at the Children’s Justice Center
to file a police report at the Kauaʻi Police Department
to obtain a reporting or non-reporting sexual assault forensic exam at the Kauaʻi Police Department
Temporary Restraining Orders (TROs)
Our TRO Advocate is available by appointment to provide the following services:
Complete an intake assessment to help document the history of violence and abuse
Evaluate what type of restraining order you may be eligible for
Assist in the preparation of the order paperwork
Provide information on safety planning and available resources
Accompany you to file paperwork
Refer for legal representation
Work with you to make certain that any violations of the restraining order receive proper attention and action
Our TRO Advocate is available for walk-in information on Fridays 10 AM-2 PM at the Kauaʻi County Fifth Circuit Court – Self Help Center, located at 3970 Kaʻana Street, Lihuʻe, HI 96766.
